Voice Request Corporation Establishes National Coverage With GTE Reseller Agreement; 300 GTE Sales People to Sell Pure Request!(TM) Speech Recognition System.

DALLAS, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Voice Request Corporation has expanded its sales coverage by signing GTE Communications Corporation (GTECC) as its first national reseller. Voice Request Corporation, the new subsidiary of Voice Control Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: VCSI), manufactures and supports Pure ReQuest!, a revolutionary speech-enabled call routing system. Pure ReQuest! pleasantly automates the routing of a company's telephone calls by allowing callers to say the name of the party they wish to reach. The system then transfers the call to the appropriate extension quickly and conveniently.

The GTECC agreement complements other recent announcements made by Voice Request concerning the establishment of regional resellers around the United States. GTECC has already rolled out the Pure ReQuest! product line to its sales teams in Dallas, New York and parts of California. The nationwide roll out will continue through the first quarter of 1999 to approximately 300 representatives within GTECC's sales force.

William Meisel, president of TMA Associates (Tarzana, California), a leading speech technology consultant, sees the agreement between Voice Request and GTECC as the initial fulfillment of his prediction for the speech technology industry. "I predicted that half of all business telephones will be answered with a speech recognition system within the next five years," said Meisel. "Until now pioneers like Voice Request have struggled to create market awareness for this type of product. The agreement represents an endorsement of the product category that will help both the market's growth and Voice Request's position in that market."

Pure ReQuest! allows GTECC to bring the latest benefits of speech recognition technology to its customers. Pure ReQuest! was selected by GTECC because it is easy to use and install, and its natural speech capabilities complemented GTECC's existing line of PBX products. Pure ReQuest! is easily integrated with virtually all of GTECC's customer telephone systems and can route calls for companies with thousands of employees. It also supports corporate directory assistance, automatic paging and voice speed dialing.

"This is a key channel win for Voice Request," said Rene Thibault, the subsidiary's vice president of sales and marketing. "GTECC's name recognition, national coverage and huge customer base will become a primary component of our U.S. distribution strategy."
