Contract clause leaves Klesko bored on beach

When the Atlanta Braves were in Los Angeles, a Fox film crewwanted to take Braves slugger Ryan Klesko back to the beaches hesurfed at as a kid.

Klesko agreed, then discovered his new contract included clausespreventing him from surfing or accompanying police on drug raids.Klesko went down to Huntington Beach anyway.

"I brought my surfboard," he said. "It was awfully tempting.So I sat on the beach and moped. I watched a surf contest, ate abagel and read the newspaper."

FEAR OF FLYING: The New York Yankees are confident on thebaseball field but not on the landing strip. Not after what happenedto them early Wednesday while landing in Minneapolis.
